Another 1 1/2 months to go....

before Jay gets home. Husband just called me at work to tell me he had just gotten off the phone with Jay. Two weeks ago he was on a mission and had stepped out of his tank and got hit in the back and legs with shrapnel. He was airlifted to the hospital. The shrapnel was removed and he finally got feeling back in his legs. He has now been given a clean bill of health and is back at his base camp. He has two more missions left before his tour is up. Of course, my husband told him to call in sick before the missions. And, of course, Jay just called now because he didn't want us to worry. Worry? I am shaking like a leaf.

So anyway, let's all hope and pray that all of our service people get home soon safely and soundly.

Work like the pay doesn't matter; love like you've never been hurt; and dance like nobody's watching. There's no day but today.

Thank God he's gonna be OK.

Thank God that your son is okay now. I can't imagine how scared that you are for his saftey.

God will watch over him & keep him safe & you'll get to hold your baby in your arms agian...probaly so tightly that you'll squeeze the breath out of him

Spartan mothers and wives told their men when headed to war, to come home with their shields or on them.

Many tribes of Native Americans chanted Today is a good day to die, while their women 'trilled'.

A mother's heart is torn when her child is off to war, to stand proud in support of the choice her child made and fearful that that child will not return home.

Every generation that faces wars, hope and pray that because they entered into battle, future generations won't.

Those who fall know that those who don't will carry the tale of days and nights, of enduring and sacrifice.

I too hope your son will be one to carry the tales and that future generations benefit from them.

My daughter's fiancé was in Iraq in the 1990s and I sent him the 23 psalms. He said that really helped him. If you think it will help Jay remind him o the 23^rd Psalms

23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Cathy when I shake like a leaf I get comfort from scriptures like the one below:

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

I am not trying to push religion on you I am offering what has helped us in times like yours and Jay. If you do not want me to offer scriptures just let me know.

I think that Jay is the salt of the earth and a hero for signing up to protect all Americans.

I also think that you and your family are good people. If you want, post a picture of Jay when he comes home in June, we all want to see a good man and a good American
